This applies to Reception places for the first time, transfer to Junior School and starting in Year 7 at secondary schools. Full details on school admissions can be found on the school admissions pages of the BFfC website, including admissions guides for parents and full information on all schools.

Apply For a School Place - In-Year Admissions
You can access the school admissions In-Year admissions application by creating an account on the Parent portal. This would apply if your child is without a school place and you wish to apply for a school place in Reading, or if your child is in school elsewhere and you wish to apply for an immediate transfer to a school in Reading.

Free School Meals

We have linked to the free school meals application on the parent portal homepage. You do not need to have a portal account to apply for this as this is a separate application.

Targeted Two-Year-Old Funding Eligibility Checker

Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans

You will soon be able contribute to and view your Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan by creating an account on the Parent and Young Person’s portal. Once you have created an account and have been given access to this area, you can contribute to Appendix A of your child’s (or your own if you are a young person with your own account) EHC Plan as well as view the plan as it progresses.
